Lionsgate and Kabam recently announced their partnership to create a mobile game that will be based on The Hunger Games. The game will be produced by Kabam. According to initial reports, it will be a card collection, role playing mobile game. The gamer will be a District member that is on a mission to rebuild Panem.
According to Kent Wakeford, Kabam COO:
Lionsgate has an unparalleled track record of developing and producing blockbuster movie franchises like The Hunger Games. Partnering with Lionsgate, Kabam will build a mobile game that’s as much fun to play as the movie is to watch.
Lionsgate Digital media EVP, Danielle DePalma said:
We are so pleased to be working with Kabam to give fans an experience like they have never had before. Being able to role-play with the mentors straight from the world of The Hunger Games will let fans feel as if they are in the middle of the action.
The Hunger Games mobile game will be developed in the China studio.
Kabam is really well known on the market as a game manufacturer that works well in creating games out of established films. The company enjoyed constant growth since it was founded 4 years ago. It now has 800 employees, with offices in Europe, Asia and North America. The firm expects a revenue of $550 million in 2014.
