Taylor Swift will not perform in Bangkok as her concert was canceled because of the political unrest in the area. This concert would have been the first time that the singer performs in Thailand.
The decision is justified as the military seized control of the country’s government. Swift should have performed on June 9. The anti-government protests led to a military coup and tour organizers decided to not go forward with the scheduled concert.
BEC-Tero Entertainment, the local company that organized the concert declared:
This has been a difficult decision for all parties.
Swift did not issue an official press release about the concert but she did tweet the following message:
No mention was made about refunds but we do expect BEC-Tero Entertainment to offer a press release about how people that bought tickets can receive a refund. To make matters worse, the concert was seen as being a success even before it took place as it sold out really fast.
Taylor Swift is now preparing to finish the Red Tour with only a few dates left.
