An official tropical storm warning was issued for North Carolina as the first storm of this season is expected to turn into a hurricane and hit Outer Banks on Friday. The classification of the hurricane is Category 1. The tropical storm watch previously offered for the east coast of Florida was canceled.
It is expected that the worst part of the storm will hit on Friday at Cape Hatteras. 3 to 5 inches of rain are expected together with winds that can reach 85 miles per hour.
It is expected that the storm will move fast and then go towards the New England coast during the same day.
Various hotels and motels in the region are booked for the holiday. Some of the managers are already thinking about offering cancellation fees in the event that the storm continues towards the region.
Precautions are expected by all the hotels and motels in the region. Emergency procedures are already being tested.
