President Obama ended his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard and returned to the White House during Sunday night. The aim is to discus alternatives available in dealing with the incident in Ferguson, St. Louis and the potential military actions in Iraq.
Obama is scheduled to have meetings on Monday and Tuesday. Monday sessions will include both talks about the Ferguson unrests and the Iraq military operation.
The morning schedule includes meetings with National Security Council members about Iraq. Vice President Biden will participate. During the afternoon the president will be briefed by Attorney General Eric Holder about the investigation of the shooting held in Ferguson.
President Obama will announce executive orders on the immigration policy but that is not a priority at the moment. An official announcement will be made next week.
Concerning the situation in Iraq, the Obama administration is planning a major operation that involves the rescue of the religious minorities trapped. A Pentagon assessment team did declare that many were already evacuated and that a large scale rescue operation is not necessary.
