Last night a peaceful demonstration about the Michael Brown shooting led to violence as police were forced to use tear gas and riot gear on protesters. Stun grenades were fired and many were arrested in the third night of chaos following the shooing of an unarmed black teenager by a Ferguson police officer.
Young black women and men protesters refused to follow the indications of the police and disperse in the St. Louis suburb. At a first glance, nobody seemed armed so no evident police threat was noticed.
Police forces moved in and announced that the gathering is not considered to be peaceful any more. Protesters were racing away, many tearing up, vomiting, screaming and gasping for air.
Heavy smoke was visible in Ferguson for many hours, illuminated by the stun guns used by the police or the noise grenades fired.
The police refuses to release the identity of the policeman involved in the shooting because of the death threats that appeared when a wrong policeman name was released on the internet.
Missouri governor is now headed towards St. Louis to assess the situation and President Obama was briefed while on vacation with his family.
