Rockets were fired on Monday towards the Labraq airport in Eastern Libya. Violence in the area escalates and the target seemed to have been the air hubs that remain of oil producer.
Tunisia and Egypt canceled most of the flights towards country capital Tripoli because of security reasons. This makes the Labraq airport, located east of Benghazi, a major gateway into the country.
At the moment nothing is known about the attackers. It was just mentioned that they used a Grad multiple rocket launcher. Major damage was not caused and according to director Abu Bakr al-Abidi, the airport is still operational.
Various Libyan airports have been targeted and this raises serious concerns about the possibility of flying to the country.
