After a fence-jumper made it inside the White House and other relevations, Julie Pierson, US Secret Service director, resigned. She has been in charge for 1 year.
Pierson submitted the resignation to Jeh Johnson, Homeland Security Security. He accepted and released a statement.
The resignation comes after the Capitol Hill contentious hearing about the armed man that jumped the White House fence and managed to get inside the Executive Mansion before he was apprehended by on-site officers. Also, congressional leaders called for Pierson’s resignation.
