According to Hillary Rodham Clinton, Eric Cantor, House Majority Leader, lost as he “was defeated by a candidate who basically ran against immigrants.” She went on to elaborate on the fact that the solution is not to deport immigrants. According to her, the solution is to create new jobs.
Hillary Clinton was in Chicago in order to promote her book. She spoke with Rahm Emanuel and stated that the Tea Party backed candidate’s campaign was a “negative attitude about immigration and immigrants”. Eric Cantor lost GOP in a surprise result against David Brat.
According to Clinton, Brat’s main argument was that when Americans do not have work, immigrants do not have the right to take US jobs.
She went on to add that immigrants take the jobs that Americans do not want, like picking fruits.
As her tour to promote the book continues, Clinton’s statements seem to continue growing towards a strong political approach, thus making most analysts believe that she will be the party’s candidate for the Presidential Elections.
An official statement was not made about this.
