Barack Obama is scheduled to have a meeting the following Wednesday with local officials and faith leaders in Texas in order to discuss the border crisis that has been going on for a long time now. The meeting appears as President Obama is faced with pressures to do so while in Texas.
Obama will visit Texas during the Democratic congressional money raiser that reaches the state. He has been asked to also talk about the border crisis as he does that.
According to the White House, the call for discussions was mostly driven by Republicans that talk about thousands of youngsters coming to USA from Central America. This includes Republican Governor Rick Perry.
Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s senior adviser, invited Perry to a discussion through an open letter.
The President did refer to the border crisis with the term “humanitarian crisis.” That is because most of the children arriving in US are not going to be allowed to stay in the country.
