Heat lost game 1 of the NBA final after LeBron James had to stop playing because of cramps. Some speculate that the cramps were caused by an AC problem in the San Antonio Arena.
The heat inside the building was stifling and the back to back NBA Finals MVP was forced to leave the game because of leg cramping that could not be shrugged off. The right thigh was locked violently. Trainers and teammates had to help James leave the court.
Just after the injury, Danny Green made a 3 pointer to give the Spurs a 5 points lead. Eventually, this led to the victory with the final score 110-95.
Miami Heat was leading the game by 7 in the 4th quarter. Eventually, they lost the lead as they were more affected by the heat inside the AT&T Center than the Spurs.
LeBron James was the top scorer for Miami with 25 points. However, his inability to play the last 4 minutes made a difference. The Heat was outscored by the Spurs 16 to 3 after James left the field.
While many believe that the Heat lost because of the fact that James was unable to continue, the team also made the mistake of not covering Danny Green. He was the hero of the forth corner as made the 3 pointers count for the victory.
