In an official report issued by Twitter, it was announced that the company’s COO, Ali Rowghanni, resigned. This news appears as there are reports online that the company is undergoing an executive shakeup. The resignation of Ali Rowghani is effective starting today.
It was announced that the former COO will still be employed by the company, working as strategic advisor to Dick Costolo, CEO.
Rowghani’s adventure in Twitter started in the year 2010 when he was employed as CFO, after a successful job done as Pixar Animation Studios CFO. After two years he was promoted to COO.
Twitter’s statement mentioned that the COO duties that Rowghani had will be taken up by other executives. A successor was not named at the moment and there is no official reason for the departure. In a Twitter post, the former COO said:
“Goodbye Twitter. It’s been an amazing ride, and I will cherish the memories.”
The resignation does not seem to be connected with the TweetDeck security vulnerability that was recently discovered.
