Apple has a very interesting feature included in iOS 8. It will allow the user to scan his/her credit card by using the camera featured on the device instead of entering numbers manually. This is highly useful when an online purchase is made and the feature may revolutionize online shopping.
When you have to enter a CC number in online forms, Safari will allow you to select a credit card that is stored in Passwords & AutoFill. That is still a possibility but iOS 8 will also give you the “Scan Credit Card” option. You basically snap a picture of your credit card and the device will recognize numbers based on optical character recognition.
The web developer does not need to make any changes in order to add the scan credit card feature. In Safari the OS automatically detects when CC numbers are requested.
According to specialists, the same feature will be add in iOS 8. This automatically means that online mobile shopping will become faster.
