Apple just announced 2 new devices: 2 new iPhone 6 versions and the much anticipated new smartwatched, named Apple Watch, although many in the community still refer to it as the iWatch.
The Apple event started with the presentation of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The difference between the two is the size, with the Plus version being larger than 6, which is larger than the iPhone 5S. This basically means that the new iPhone is larger but at the same time, both models are thinner.
Various new features were announced but the highlight of the keynote was the official announcement about Apple Pay, a new mobile payment system that allows users to easily pay anything with their smartphones. It is a feature that is only available in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The camera is better and the new smartphone will run on iOS. The mobile phone will be available for pre-order starting on September 12th with a starting price tag of $199 for the iPhone 6 16 GB option, with a 2 years contract.
The second device that was announced at the Apple event was the brand new Apple Watch, the company’s first attempt to tackle the smartwatch market.
The highlight of the presentation was the presentation of a new Digital Crown button that is a pretty unique feature in the smartwatch market. We also have very interesting apps that are included and the device will be available early 2015 with a starting price tag of $349.
Criticism instantly appeared online about the Apple Watch as the presentation did not talk about various things that people were interested in. The device does not include a face time camera and crucial features like battery life were not mentioned.
