Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 user manual makes 4 references to the Surface Mini. The mistake was first made public by The Verge and the rumors that were going around about the soon to be launched competitor for Nexus 7 and iPad Mini look legit.
As Microsoft unveiled its Surface Pro 3 last month, most specialists expected to see the smaller screen tablet that was called Surface Mini by the media.
It looks like the company did plan this but the announcement was not made.
The user manual in question seems to hold the 4 mentions by accident. There is even a part of the manual that hints at the inclusion of a digital pen together with Surface mini.
Before the event that was hosted in May, it was reported that Microsoft did not want to launch Mini together with Surface Pro 3. It is not known why the Mini launch was canceled but the user manual proves that this was the plan all along.
While Steve Ballmer, previous CEO, green-lighted the launch, Stephen Elop and Satya Nadella decided not to launch it, according to Bloomberg.
No official statement was released about the incident by Microsoft. It is expected that the user manual will be modified in a short period of time and no statement will be made about the future of Surface Mini.
