Just hours after the ceasefire stopped and President Petro Poroshenko said that the government will retaliate, gunfire broke out. The incidents took place in Donetsk, a major city in Eastern Ukraine.
The gunfire started as a group of armed people tried to take control of the regional police headquarters. On Tuesday afternoon the capital of the 2 major regions that the Pro-Russian insurgents declared as being independent was hit.
Witnesses say that there was blood on the street. However, no wounded people were seen at the time of the report.
While the ceasefire that was agreed by both parties did not go as planned with claims from both sides that the other side broke it, Eastern Ukraine is now again faced with conflicts.
The ceasefire was initially offered by President Poroshenko with the purpose of getting the rebels to agree to start talking. Now he wants them to lay down all weapons or the armed forces will “squash” the rebellion.
