Separatists in Eastern Ukraine managed to ambush a troop column, killing over 10 soldiers. The ambush took place close to MH17 flight crash site. The incident was confirmed by a military spokesman.
According to Ukrainian media, 20 people died, although only 10 deaths were confirmed. Rebels declared that they destroyed over thirty vehicles.
Australian and Dutch forensic teams managed to visit the site of the crash for the very first time since the July crash. As this happened, the country’s military declared a one day suspension against pro-Russian rebels in the Donetsk region. The suspension was unilateral.
The forensic team was previously prevented to access the crash site area due to heavy fighting in the area. According to Australian officials, around 80 bodies are still present at the crash site.
A report shows that rebels are scheduled for a meeting with an Ukrainian delegation in Minsk with the purpose of holding talks involving Russia, Ukraine and the European Organization for Security and Co-operation.
