Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol are reportedly getting better, stronger every day. The situation for both patients is getting better. It is not known if it is because of the experimental drugs used or not.
The two contracted the virus while doing missionary work at a clinic in Liberia. Kent Brantly wrote from isolation that he did not go to the country in order to fight Ebola. He added that his work turned towards increasing number of patients infected:
“I held the hands of countless individuals as this terrible disease took their lives away from them, I witnessed the horror firsthand, and I can sill remember every face and name.”
David Writebol, Nancy Writebol’s husband, declared that he did not speak to the doctors but that his sons said improvement is shown. However, he added:
“I don’t believe we could say she’s in the clear. I would say she’s in very good hands and is being well attended to.”
David is still in Liberia.
Not much is known about the actual treatment that the two are going through and although there are reports that another dose of the experimental drug was offered to Writebol in Atlanta, no such reports exist about Brantly.
More information to be released as it is offered.
