Dr. Kent Brantly was released from the hospital where he was treated for Ebola in Atlanta. The American doctor was diagnosed with Ebola while working in Liberia and was flown to US for treatment at the Emory University Hospital. The latest tests showed that he is negative for the Ebola virus.
An official statement by the Samaritan’s Purse, made through a spokesperson, confirmed that Dr. Brantly will soon be released from the hospital. It was also shown that the doctor was recovered.
An Emory University Hospital spokesman did not confirm if the doctor will be discharged but a press conference was announced for today.
Kent Brantly has been treated with the use of a serum that is experimental and was not tested on humans till now. During the treatment he was held in a special hospital isolation unit, treated together with Nancy Writebol. It is not known if she is also going to be recharged.
